Also the lighting in the whole movie, whenever they talk about dreams and hope, the lighting turns warm and cozy, but when there is mother gothel, the lighting changes

I never noticed the contrast between Eugene pushing the hair away vs Gothel (who I did notice was only attached to her hair as a kid). I just saw it as a romantic gesture, so this was really cool to think about!

When I was growing up, my mom was obsessed with my hair. She brushed it, dyed it, curled it, flat-ironed it, everything. I hated it, and spent my childhood feeling miserable about my hair. I finally snapped as a teen and started begging her to cut it short. She refused, but a friend of hers decided to do it for me in secret one day. I seriously thought my mom was going to cry when she found out. Like my hair was more important than me feeling happy about my own hair for once. I kept it short for about 15 years, and I've only recently grown it long again, but this time I'm a grown adult and have learned to just tell her no when she tries to come at my hair. I brush it and usually keep it pulled back in a ponytail or braid. So when this movie came out, I honestly related hard to the hair part of this movie, and it's pretty ironic how so many people call her short hair ugly, when 1. it's cute af, and 2. that's exactly what I was told by my mom when I cut it short. She said it looked ugly and tried to tear me down and make me regret it. But I never did.

I love Flynn for this but why couldn’t he just cut her hair a little longer 😭 I feel it would’ve gone better with her face shape

Mother Gothel might actualy be Meg from Hercules. I believe this because, they both have the same style of dress, aditude, and both of their hair is curly. But some of you might think: "Why would Meg kidnap Rapunzel for eternal youth?" Well, assuming Hercules died before Meg, (giving up his imortality) It very well could have impacted her, and gave her a weird obsestion with living forever.
