wow! thank you, but please, before i open my hard drive,,, for it will be my first time to do so,

mine occasionally comes on, but then on another pc start up, it doesn't then stays for weeks before it comes on again,

will this procedure help out?

Does the blue light need to be flashing or on all the time for a good hard drive. I have 3 of these hard drives, all clicking, not spinning, that used to work great when in a computer. cheers steven

brother, this is an excellent tutorial but bad luck, it didn't work for me. the clicking noise is still there and the HDD doesn't show up on the computer. When I go and see in the Disk Management, this HDD is being shown as "Not Initialized". Do you know something about this? The light is glowing properly and being shown in the taskbar to "eject safely". Please, need your help. Thanks in advance.

Hlo professional i have a problem with my Seagate 500GB hard drive when i insert the casing and plug the USB to pc it connects well the pc makes a sound that it has detected an yet when i check it
Is not shown even in disk management and in device manager it shows a yellow sign under USB MASS STORAGE DEVICE and device status shows this device cannot start. (Code 10)

My hdd suddenly stopped working the motor is spinning but the r/w head is making rapidly clicking noise and it seems to be tired,

Great tutorial. Did not work for me. My drive makes clicking sounds and stops. I have already opened it and the head is not stuck on the platter. It was not dropped or damaged as far as I know. It tries to read three times and stops. The clicking comes from the head trying to read and withdraws., It does three times and stops. Any advice?

A couple of weeks ago I fixed my external WD (6 months old) with the same problem following your advice.

My WD HDD(from similar to that same Dell, mine 2012) Blue Scorpio 750gb
Has years of important from my daughter overseas, if you can pls help me.
Symptoms:
Laptop was slow last few months, 1. Week ago I woke up laptop was still switched on but showed blue Windows system error on the screen.
2. I rebooted and went to black screen and has stayed there.
3.plugged the HDD into my neighbour’s PC USB and it spins 5-10 seconds then goes click click click over and over again ...
4.He tried to see properties of the disc, not possible but in a menu called “SCSI disc properties” found some info like the capacity showed 715405 MB and similar volumes
Lastly in another menu we got
E:/Is not accessible.
The request failed due to a fatal device hardware error.
