Jon Bernthal is such a phenomenal actor who brought the character to life better than anyone else possibly could have. To be able to play a character so well that the audience has genuine love for him sometimes and genuine hatred at other times is no easy task.

Honestly, I don’t like Shane at all. He found out his best friend is dead, and what does he do? Hook up with his wife and try to replace him as his kid’s dad, and that’s not even all. Even when it turns out that Rick is alive, he still tries going after Rick’s wife, like no respect. And then he kills Otis, lies about how Otis died, he doesn’t respect Hershel, and he threatens Dale? Nah, not a good person.

Killing off Shane and following the comic was the dumbest decision the writers made. Series went downhill after that

Not just a great actor but a legitimate hard guy although he has his life well in-hand. Some of them can have you feel more like a wrangler than their friend.
