I appreciate what Kirkman and Gimple are saying, I really do. But, these guys fundamentally missed some important points here. They rolled the dice on how to tell this story, and the fans feel like they've been hung out to dry. The points Kirkman made were honest. Buuuuut,....the consequences of Rick's hubris and short sightedness are reflected in the horrors that Negan and Glenn's death represent.....they're inextricably linked. The consequences are extreme and final. Andrew Lincoln was brilliant in the finale, and Rick was terrified, desperate and helpless. Andrew Lincoln had my guts in a knot right along with Rick. At that point, Negan emerges and with that comes Glenn's death.....IMMEDIATELY. They're so closely linked that it's like 2 sides of the same coin. Season 7 should then be picking up with the aftermath of what comes next as different communities merge together to strategize on how to take Negan and the Saviors down. What Kirkman should've been reminded of is that issue #100 both introduces Negan and kills Glenn in ONE issue, not over a couple of issues. The comics didn't cliff hang it, and the show shouldn't have either.

I envy people who like cliffhangers or surprises. I don't hate them, I just can't contain myself from ruining it for myself. It's almost like I NEED to know what's happening in something that I watch or read. Maybe because my life is one big surprise.. But I will find out Robert kirkman!! You bet your sweet ass I will!

You love cliffhangers but do the fans?? Especially when they get teased for a whole year?? Haha Fucking dumbasses. Im still having a hard time to believe that Kirkman is actually the one who created this story.

Sure the comic often had cliffhangers issue to issue, but never like this. That scene has a duel purpose: to show Rick that he really didn't know what he was getting into, and to show him and us the audience exactly what he's up against. In the comic that's exactly what it did and in the show it was nailing it up until the tension was broken by the entire scene being chopped in half. The anger at the death not being shown is also due to the fact that you fuckers teased it for the whole season.

To paraphrase Drax the Destroyer:

"They hyped up this event for four years (since issue 100 in 2012). They promised us the most iconic scene in the comic would cap off the season. We were told someone would die. But instead we received a cliffhanger. During this scene. It has lost its impact. It was clearly a cheap gimmick. It ruined the scene. We were outraged. Disgusted. Enraged. And Gimple and Kirkman were told how upset we were.

And they LAUGHED?!?!?!??!???!!"

I can't understand them with all that AMC cock down their throats.

Seriously, it was their idea. "If you end it on a cliffhanger after building it up for months, the season 7 premiere will get tons of ratings." And sadly, it works.

Ugh. For those saying they're not coming back in October? You're not a fan. This was a good 'ol classic cliffhanger from the days of yore. In this 'instant gratification/Netflix binge' society, you're all spoiled. If you have nothing better to do then bitch and piss and moan on every social forum, you NEED TO REGROUP.

"I think the reason for all of this anger is basically people are to emotionally wrapped up in it"…NO…You just fucked up the entire story by slicing what was supposed to be the most iconic scenes of the entire tale, IN HALF…A 6 MONTH HALF. You also hyped it up to fuck for what was an ultimately anti climatic ending which was comparable to having a solitary wank in a confined space. AND you even have it's own creator trying to justify the fucking butchery that they've carried out. Fuck this shit. Seriously.

They're justifying their bullshit excuse of a weak cliffhanger that literally ruined the momentum of what would of been one of the most memorable episode in the walking dead. Comics have cliffhangers of course but there was no fucking cliffhanger when the bat bashed against that poor pizza delivery boy😭

I get it, I do. Rick needed a reality check but it still kinda sucked to leave it that way.
Also I think NOBODY WILL DIE!
Q deus ex cavalry in the form of Ezekiel and those dudes that helped Morgan with Carole.
Seems like every one has their castle at this point too. Could have used a few more archers this last season during the siege. That way you can take out the hurd without drawing more walkers in.

@soyusmaximus7176
@soyusmaximus7176 - 25.05.2016 01:32

Well, the thing is is that if they did in fact show who died - and conclude the episode in the same way as issue 100, they'd still be leaving us with a cliffhanger. A big cliffhanger. Negan just offed a main (probably Glenn or Daryl) and completely subjugated Rick and the group. Not only is it satisfying to fucking conclude the scene and get some pay-off, but it's incredibly exciting for the next season - "How the hell are Rick and co. going to get out from under Negan and the Saviors' thumb - especially after what we've seen them do this episode?"
