Everything You Need to Know About Basilisks (+Horcrux Plot Hole?)

I know Voldemort considers himself a heir to Salazar Slytherin but cells are Slytherin only accepted pure Bloods period. The fact that Voldemort is a half muggle half wizard automatically disqualifies him or at the very least should.

I think that the basilisk is one of the coolest harry potter creatures ever.

I have a theory of why spiders fear the basilisk:

Spiders have 8 eyes that give them near 360 degree vision, but they don’t have eyelids so they can’t close their eyes. Hang on, if male basilisks have red plumage on their heads, that would mean that the one in the Chamber of Secrets was a female basilisk. Neat.

Imagine breeding the best Basilisk possible only for it to spend 99% of its 1000 year old life sleeping, only managing to petrify and not kill 3 mudbloods and a cat, the only kill it had was pretty much a fluke because a girl happened to be where it came out, and finally be killed by a 12 year old boy.
It's a good thing Voldemort didn't go to the afterlife because imagine what Salazar Slytherin would do to him.

Toph would have beaten the basilisk because she blind so the basilisk stare would not work on her and she has seismic sense so she would sense the basilisk coming for her

So, every bathroom in hogwarts is an entrance to the chamber. Which means attack only happened around the bathrooms, or it's still a miracle that the basilisk wasn't spotted. Also, the rumours of the must have spouted from somewhere, so the chamber must have been opened more than twice.

Maybe it was just the ring that was the horcrux and not the resurrection stone?

Another counter argument against the fact of the broken stone could be the stone didn't get destroyed, the ring did as the horcrux was not in the stone yet in the ring. I don't know this for sure but this could be possible.

I have a few other tidbits about Basilisks. Their Venom courses throughout their bodies. Stabbing the Venom will rise through the weapon kill the Wielder and if on horseback the horse as well. Takes only a second for the Venom to kill that way.
Also the scent of a Weasel is fatal to The Basilisk as well. Also you could use a mirror to kill it with it's own reflection.

Kind of funny how one off Voldemort’s greatest weapons (the Basilisk) is also his undoing with how the venom can destroy a horcrux with a simple stab.

Fun fact, basiliskts are objectvily worse than snakes
My logic: 1 they are crippled without eyes, while real snakes can sense vibrations and have a good sense of smell(and can see infrared in some cases)
2 : they kill you at looking, real snakes dont and are better friends
3: they arnt racist
4: snakes dont mind affection, basilisks only obay
5: snakes will treaten you before biting, basiliks only kill
6: they arnt killed by recordings

I wonder if Fawkes rescuing Harry from certain death by Basilisk venom also saved the bit of Voldemort's soul...

Doesnt they allso say that there was basilisk used in previois triwizard tournament?

So here's what i want to know.
The basilisk that Harry hears talks about being hungry and wanting to kill every time it petrified someone. If it kills successfully with its eyes, does it steal/feed on their life essence through the act? And why not eat the petrified bodies? They're not dead, but they certainly aren't going anywhere.

Another Horcrux plothole is that if you put a Horcrux inside a Basilisk, you could live up to 1000 years, as if the Basilisk itself doesnt die, neither will the Horcrux. But unlike objects, a Basilisk can protect itself with ease, unless some rooster, phoenix or a boy named Harry Potter is around.
