It was a magical nature-filled day for students from Cleveland Elementary and Carpinteria Family School. Their Flows to the Ocean field trip was amazing!!
Students, teachers, and parent chaperones joined Explore Ecology Environmental Educators for a field trip of a lifetime.
Right off Mesa Lane, a Grey Whale mom and baby were spotted.
The students also got to see six humpback whales, including another mom and baby,
Another highlight was seeing a Basking Shark! They are super rare to see in the SB Channel. The last time one was spotted was in 2019. In the video you can see its mouth is wide open.
Thanks to the Condor Express for a wonderful trip and to NOAA for funding this important program.
