Lufthansa First Class Boeing 747 (South Africa to Germany)

Thanks for sharing your video on traveling Lufthansa's 747-8 first class (very enjoyable - my favorite plane). Some years back (if I remember correctly), you posted your video on riding Lufthansa's A380 first class and commented that you didn't know if you would ever have that opportunity again. Any plans to travel first class on Lufthansa's A380 in your upcoming travels? Thanks so much these videos!

Null Privatsphäre

i've been fortunate to have flown LH 1st on a couple of occasions-- both US>Germany (not Germany back to the US) and while I loved the service, the staff and overall the experience -- top notch. However --- I feel I missed out a bit on the overall "experience" as the US airports didn't have any specialized "1st class" services like security queues, check in, lounges or anything really different than my regular United StarAlliance Gold already provides. Much of what I have seen on YT or followed online extols the 1st class on-ground experience but seems that's only in Germany? Maybe next time -- it's biz over, 1st back -- versus what I did which was 1st over and Biz back from Germany -- oh well -- next time!

Lufthansa is no match for SIA, JAL, ANA, EMIRATES, ETIHAD, OMAN, etc.

The best F product among European airlines would be La Premiere by Air France.
Sadly, Qatar Qsuites experience seems far better than Lufthansa F. Even Swiss F is better.

I guess it was OK. I didn't see much to say my goodness I want to experience that before I pass away. I mean it was alright if you like looking at gadgets, fumbling with ample storage space you aren't even using. " Oh look it's empty let me put this piece of paper in there"

I dont recognize any of these food items on those plates. Stewardess, could you heat up this can of Spam for me and toast me a couple of slices of white bread Thank You ever so. I think I can make it first class appearing and tasting by adding a bit of Grey Poupon. Oh Stewardess, would you happen to have on board some Grey Poupon ? "But of course." Thanks again, Madamoselle. Now thats what I call service.

Gee, I think I would've had more excitement watching the engine compressor fans go round and round and the clouds . When the time comes to see another piece of cheese it'll be too soon.

Presentation of meal is like a picnic lunch in park. No privacy. And huge slippers! As first class seat I will use another airline. But this spacious seat will help a person suffering claustrophobia!😊

That is the worst presented caviar service I have ever seen, also the other dishes all looked a bit sad, at least compared to their decriptions. BA food is now better it seems in First Class.

I do like that open seating plan though and the nose of the 747 is the ultimate place, especially at the very front if a couple, not too close, not too far away !

Sublime is a HUGE exaggeration--------- its just a fairly ORDINARY lounge.

Further ------- there is always smething vaguely pretemcious abot this persons trip reports-------- 'superior' too.

We shall always be most gratefull to Lufthansa airlines for bringing our brother back home in a special patient transport unit from Bangkok to Frankfurt. Most likely the only European carrier delivering this Service.

I see Kalamata olives. I hope and the olive oil is from Kalamata or at least from Greece too.

Never Lufthansa. Not First, Business, Prem or Eco. Too expensive, too unreliable (strikes of staff, cockpit, cabin, ground etc.), too stiff and snobbish. Other airlines are much more friendly and warmly.

Very plastic... in more than one way!
Plane interior is cold, lacks warmth and a sense of welcoming, impersonal, plastic with no atmosphere! A very sterile and cold place to be! It's like a dentist's surgery!

What a joy to have the luxury of FC. Though your food seemed enough, it also seemed to be lacking. That toast with your caviar didn't seem quite right but I am sure it tasted very nice. You have very nice background music. Thanks for sharing your journey!

At first glance, the cabin looks attractive enough, but then you realize this is FIRST CLASS. By today's 2024 standards, there is a complete lack of privacy that you would expect when paying a first-class fare, even with the tiny partition in the raised position you are very much exposed (perhaps some passengers prefer to be exposed?). Another thing that I was struck by was how small the TV monitor was. Given the available amount of "real estate" on the forward partition, it could have been twice that size. Compare this "first class" "suite" with Qatar's Business Class Q-Suite!

Lacking in the "hard product" for what is billed as a "first-class" cabin you would expect the ultimate in in-flight catering. While I can't know how the food tasted I can see the presentation was lacking especially the Cavier course. I did not see any mother-of-pearl spoon? The main-course grilled beef filet was hard to judge without seeing how it looked after you cut through it. The main course overall did not look remarkable (how did it taste). The pre-arrival breakfast looked like "meh". Some Musli and a spattering of scrambled eggs and pieces of cheese. Is that what paying first-class fare gets you on Lufthansa? If I was paying first class I would expect a full breakfast prepared as I like it with bacon, sausages, 3 eggs sunny side up, home fries, toast, jam, marmalade, a warm croissant, coffee, fresh squeezed orange juice, and a selection of fresh fruit. especially watermelon slices. When you are paying 5-figures for your ticket is that too much to ask for?

I did not see at the end of the video a review from the channel owner. How did this live up to your expectations? How did the fare price compare to what Lufthansa delivered? It could well be that the fare was very reasonable despite this being ostensibly a "first class" cabin in which case it was well worth the price. So many variables to consider when doing a review.

I had the unique experience of traveling on a military plane, where the crew served in a simple, barracks-like setting with a minimalist design. The food was also minimal and presented in a clear, uncomplicated manner, with each item served individually. In contrast, flying first class on a French airline felt like a classic dream, showcasing how an airline should treat its guests. It was a truly exceptional experience.

Das Essen hat mich überhaupt nicht überzeugt ...Wenn ich dieses halbe Toast neben dem Kavier sehe ,dann denke ich sofort an die Zeiten als die Bratwurst Beilage auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt ihren Höhepunkt erreicht hatte und es nur noch so einen halben Toast zur Wurst gab ...Mittlerweile gibt es auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt wieder ein ganzes Brötchen und das halbe Toast in der First Class der Lufthansa....

No European airline comes distantly closer to their Asian counterparts in terms of quality, service, staff helpfulness. US airlines are even worse.

I have had the privilege of seat 1A from Frankfurt to Johannesburg (2023). Really a luxurious treat!
